30 Days of Demons, Day 25: Angie Fox Back to Blog
Update: The winner of Angie’s contest is…Tina B! Congrats, Tina! Thanks for all the comments!
Today’s guest author is the mega (fabulously!) talented author Angie Fox. Angie exploded onto the paranormal scene with THE ACCIDENTAL DEMON SLAYER, and now she’s got me hooked on her stories. If you’re looking for a hilarious read, well, Angie is your woman! And did I mention that she’s a New York Times best-selling author? Oh, yes, she is! Welcome, Angie!
Hi, my name is Angie Fox and I write the Accidental Demon Slayer series. It’s about a preschool teacher turned demon slayer who has to run off with her grandmother’s gang of geriatric biker witches. It happens every day, right?
The series has been a blast to write and I think I’ve had some of the most fun coming up with demons. Yes, they are scary. Yes, they are out to take over the world. But they have to have their own personalities and problems too.
In The Accidental Demon Slayer, Vlad the demon has been imprisoned by my heroine’s ancestor, who was one of the greatest demon slayers. But has he spent his time in the fifth level of hell just moping? No-sir-e-bob. Vlad is a bit of a mad scientist. He’s coming up with ways to beat demon slayer technology.
And then there are the sex-on-the-brain succubi in The Dangerous Book for Demon Slayers. They’re out to conquer the world, one man at a time. Problem is, no one seems to take sexy creatures seriously. The magical bureaucracy has ignored the succubi problem in Las Vegas. After all, they’ve added a certain “what happens in Vegas…” charm. But demons, left to their own devices, will get out of hand.
You can read more here:
The Accidental Demon Slayer
The Dangerous Book for Demon Slayers
Tell us about the most interesting demon you’ve read about/seen in a movie and you’re entered to win a copy of one of my books (winner’s choice) or if you already have the Accidental Demon Slayer series, you can have a Kiss My Asphalt t-shirt like the biker witches wear in the books.

Thanks for having me here toda. I’ve been enjoying the 30 Days of Demons immensely and am honored to be able to make an official visit!
June 25th, 2009 at 7:46 am
The most interesting demon I’ve read (lately) is Eidolon from Larissa Ione’s Demonica series. He’s hot, caring, a doctor, did I say hot? (Sorry Angie, yours are great, but there’s just something about Eidolon that hits all the right buttons)
June 25th, 2009 at 8:18 am
Hm, haven’t read about many, sad indeed. But most interesting, the demons from reapers. These two gay demons that are so funny and cute
June 25th, 2009 at 8:43 am
Now i am racking my brain for a demon I have read about. akkkk coming up empty..either I am in need of caffine before visiting blogs or I just have not read of any good ones lately…….sorry! Do not blog before coffee is the moral of the story,
June 25th, 2009 at 8:43 am
Wait. Are those the demons from Jenna Black’s series? The two hot gay demons? I love those guys.
June 25th, 2009 at 8:44 am
LOL Tina. My rule is to not blog before Diet Coke.
June 25th, 2009 at 9:07 am
Hey Angie,
Just wanted to stop by and say Hello. Found out the other day that Sherrilyn Keyon is making a stop in
Memphis so our book club is going to visit her. Remember Memphis is between St. Louis and Nashville when you head to Nashville sometime next year.
I love your books and can’t wait for the next installment. But the only other Demon I can think of is from Christine Warren’s book, Rule. He makes his 1st appearance in The Demon you Know but he’s also in Howl at the Moon because his wife Abby’s brother is one of the main characters in that book.
June 25th, 2009 at 9:11 am
I absolutely love your books. Dmitri is so hot and sexy I wish I could wear him.
As for demons… one of my favorite is the signing Lorne from Angel. I just loved him. I know he isn’t from a book but he is my favorite.
June 25th, 2009 at 9:19 am
Hey Angie! I love my shirt and waiting for the right to to wear it to parade it around (plus it’s been hot in my area). Just finished The Accidental Demonsyler the other day and I was heavily suggesting it to my friends. It brought a huge smile to my lips. I so can’t wait to read the next book.
Love Ant Eater’s name (I laugh everytime I read it)
June 25th, 2009 at 10:02 am
That’s a hard question. Demons aren’t usually the most interesting character in a book. I read The Accidental Demonslayer when it first came out, and thought it was great!
June 25th, 2009 at 10:41 am
One of the demons I find most interesting and fun, after yours, of course, is Jim from Katie MacAlister’s Aisling Grey series. Jim frequently steals the show.
Love your books.
June 25th, 2009 at 10:44 am
Hi, Angie!! Truly it’s hard to pick just one, but Wraith from Larissa Ione’s Demonica series is winning on this one. He was interesting, sexy, torn, and had convinced even himself he was all bad….Loved seeing him find happiness, and make peace w/ his brothers.
June 25th, 2009 at 11:02 am
Everyone has already mentioned the few demons I remember for books…..and tv. *G* They are just becoming popular, of course there’s always Niol in Midnight’s Master….*G*
June 25th, 2009 at 11:06 am
some of my fav demons are from genas showalter series the lords of the underworld
June 25th, 2009 at 11:44 am
I have fallen in love with two new series. One is by Rita Herron and the other is by Jennifer Lyon. Both of their heros Vincent and Axel were what got me hooked on demons. Have a great day.
June 25th, 2009 at 11:58 am
The demons from Jacquelyn Frank’s NightWalker series are great. Her books were the first I read that featured demons.
June 25th, 2009 at 12:10 pm
I am currently reading Kim Harrison’s The Hallow’s series and they have a pretty interesting Demon in them. I can’t give you his name because that is against his rules (and I can’t spell it) but he can take the shape of your worst fear. He is pretty cool for a demon.
June 25th, 2009 at 12:14 pm
My favorite demon is Japhrimel from the Dante Valentine series by Lilith Saintcrow
June 25th, 2009 at 12:30 pm
The most interesting demons would be Jacob and Noah from Jacquelyn Frank’s Nightwalker Series.
thanks for the chance to win a book
June 25th, 2009 at 12:35 pm
My favorite demons are the ones frrm Larissa Ione’s Demonica series.
June 25th, 2009 at 12:35 pm
I just read a book with a female demon (haven’t come across too many of these)that I really enjoyed, great storyline and romance. Forever Immortal by J.K. Coi.
June 25th, 2009 at 1:23 pm
Way back when I was a teenager, there was a series called “A Malady of Magics,” about a wizard allergic to magic. His nemesis was a demon called Guxx Unfufadoo. He has a great name, and was very funny–not sexy or hot, though!
June 25th, 2009 at 2:23 pm
Al from Kim Harrison’s Hollows series is the most interesting demon I’ve read about.
June 25th, 2009 at 2:30 pm
These are some great answers - and I’m getting some good book recommendations too! That’s always a plus.
I like the idea of female demons too, Cathy. Why do men get to have all the fun?
June 25th, 2009 at 3:10 pm
LMAO! I’m going to have to agree with Kimberly B. I totally forgot about Guxx Unfufadoo! Too hilarious.
June 25th, 2009 at 3:15 pm
Does Hellboy count as a demon? I think he’s my favorite movie demon.
June 25th, 2009 at 3:22 pm
Only demon I can come up with id Niol.
June 25th, 2009 at 3:23 pm
Pinhead from “Hellraiser” is the best demon I’ve seen in movies. He still gives me nightmares.
June 25th, 2009 at 4:04 pm
I don’t know if I can pick the most interesting one, but… Stephanie Rowe’s paranormal series has a fun interpretation of Satan himself. He was certainly different than his usual image.
Demons in movies/tv? I have to go with anime series featuring demons (eg. Sebastian in Kuroshitsuji). I can’t think of many Hollywood productions (except Hellboy) where demons aren’t used just for scaring people.
June 25th, 2009 at 5:18 pm
I have to say that I loved Eidolon in Larissa Ione series.
June 25th, 2009 at 5:27 pm
It would have to be Niol from Midnight’s Master by Cynthia Eden. Yup, I got it early and I just fell in love with that bad boy demon.
June 25th, 2009 at 5:34 pm
I don’t have a favorite demon, I love them all; the badder the better.
June 25th, 2009 at 5:34 pm
Hi, Angie! I would have to say that the most interesting demon I’ve seen/read would be Sweet, the demon in Buffy the Musical. The guy just loved his job, and he looked great while doing it. The “child bride” thing was a bit creepy, but then, he was a demon, after all. If all he did was make people sing, and then burn up, he wouldn’t have any street-cred with the other demons. (Would that be hell-cred? Hmm.)
I love your books, Angie. Keep them coming!
June 25th, 2009 at 5:55 pm
It’s so hard to think of a favorite or most interesting demon - even though there are so many I liked, which got me to thinking: part of the reason it’s so hard to decide is because there are so many incarnations of demons out there! Which type should a person go with? Demons who are spawn of the devil and are therefore all-evil, demons who are spawn of some other baddie and a human and are therefore something in between, are they fallen angels, other? Sometimes vampires are even demon-like. So here’s my list of memorable demon characters from books and movies:
*Azreal from Dogma - he was a fallen angel who was too chicken to pick sides when the morningstar tried to rise to power
*Hellboy - he was meant to be evil but was nurtured by someone completely good. He’s a little crazy, but he’s got a good heart.
*The various guys from The Crow - though not technically a demon per-se, these guys were brought back from the dead to exact vengeance. I really like the one from the first movie.
*Spawn - yet another character who came back from the dead to exact revenge. He’s a bit more evil, even though he still loves his wife.
*The part-demon guy from Charmed (can’t remember his name). He’s got the best of both worlds and he gets the girl. Cha-ching!
*The Gally and Charonte demons from Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Dark-Hunter series. They’re badass and they have little hearts in them - well, sometimes. Some are downright evil. I love them.
*Keanu Reeves’ character from the Devil’s Advocate. He’s the son of the devil and there are all kinds of demons chasing him around. Doesn’t that make him a demon? ::shrugs:: close enough.
*Little Nicky. He’s the son of the devil and an angel.
*All the demon guys from Kresley Cole’s Immortals After Dark Series. So hot, and the horns are so lickable!
***My favorite, loveable demonic book character: Jim from Katie MacAlister’s Aisling Grey series. He’s so darn funny!
Do I really hafta just pick one?!
June 25th, 2009 at 6:13 pm
Kinda new to paranormal, but the one I liked the best was Kresley Cole’s Rydstrom from Kiss of a Demon King. Loved that he was so tortured, and that she has different kinds of demons (rage, pus…)
Would love to win The Accidental Demon Slayer so that I can start at the beginning of this series. I love humor in my paranormal romances.
June 25th, 2009 at 7:42 pm
Hi Angie!
You can’t go wrong with Niol from Midnight’s Master!:>
June 25th, 2009 at 9:39 pm

June 25th, 2009 at 9:44 pm
my favorite demons would have to be wrath from Larissa Ione demonica series. Love the vamp/demon thing he has going on and Nioll from Midnight’s Master. It was the best. Now if I can get me a demon of my own lol.
June 25th, 2009 at 9:47 pm
I enjoy Jacquelyn Frank’s Nighwalker series!
June 25th, 2009 at 11:12 pm
Hi Angie.
Love your series. So many people have named such great ones from books, Im going to pick a movie. Al Pacinos character in The Devils Advocate.
June 26th, 2009 at 12:16 am
Hellboy, Hellboy, Hellboy! Um, did I say Hellboy?
June 26th, 2009 at 1:04 am
Hi! Great interview:)
My fav is Dante from A RUSH OF WINGS by A. Phoenix
June 26th, 2009 at 2:47 am
Angie, Oh, no this tvseries Reaper, there is the two hot gay demons. But now I got curious about that book
June 26th, 2009 at 9:36 am
I always come in late….hehe!! I’m over the pond so I sometimes miss these posts.
I’ve enjoyed them all so far and always come in to see who’s blogging next. I’ve enjoyed all the comments too!!
Valerie
June 26th, 2009 at 10:35 am
No worries, Valerie. We’re still here. I’m loving these comments. Everybody has great ideas and how bad is it that I didn’t even know there was a Buffy: The Musical? Must see if I can get that on Netflix.
June 26th, 2009 at 10:37 am
Oh and Paula mentioned Stephanie Rowe’s Satan character. He’s great. Did you know she wanted to do a book with him as the romantic hero? It sounded really cool, but her publisher didn’t buy the idea. Evidently, Satan isn’t supposed to get his own HEA.
June 26th, 2009 at 12:40 pm
Hi Angie, first off let me say I loved The Accidental Demon Slayer! I am drawing a blank here on demons. I always loved the demons on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but its been years since I watched that show.
June 26th, 2009 at 4:14 pm
Hi Angie! I have all your books and the T-shirt so no need to enter me in your contest as I’m already so lucky. But I had to post a hello to you and tell everyone how absolutely awesome your books are!
Most interesting demon read? Well I Love your books. And Cynthia Eden’s and Larissa Ione’s and….well heck, It’s almost impossible to pick just one series or author isn’t it? All the books are so good!
Most interesting demon movie? I really like Hellboy personally.
June 26th, 2009 at 7:57 pm
I haven’t had the pleasure of reading either of these books & would love the chance to win them. Thanks!
June 27th, 2009 at 7:08 am
Hey Angie - dropping in a little late - but I love demons - some of my favorites belong to Larissa Ione, Gena Showalter, Jaci Burton, and Cynthia Eden.
But I have to say Skip from Angel was one of my favorite demons.
June 27th, 2009 at 12:56 pm
Congratulations, Tina!
