ETERNAL HUNTER…ARCs are here! Back to Blog

Sweet!  Just what I needed today…a fun delivery.

My ETERNAL HUNTER Advanced Reader Copies have arrived!  Just look at my lovelies…

Yes, they are orange…perfect for Halloween.  🙂

Want to win an ARC?  You could read the first book in my Night Watch bounty hunter series long before anyone else. (The book doesn’t come out until 01/2010.)  Leave me a comment.  Tell me the name of your favorite romance hero of all time…and you’ll be entered to win. Simple, huh?  I’ll let the contest run until Sunday night at 6 p.m.

And don’t worry…this is just the first of many ARC contests I’ll be running.

Assistant DA Erin Jerome has a secret. Make that two. One: She’s not entirely human–she’s Other, desperately trying to keep her supernatural strength under wraps. Two: she’s got a killer stalking her–an Other rogue set on “gifting” her bloody corpses, not to mention nights lying awake in terror. Small wonder she’s been having bad luck with men.

But the bounty hunter on her new case isn’t worried about any of that. Jude Donovan is a shapeshifter himself, and the new DA’s midnight hair and addictive scent tell him all he thinks he needs to know:  She’s gorgeous, she’s definitely not human, and she’s bringing out the animal in him in a really good way. He might have to track a psychotic Other stalker through half of Louisiana. But he might also get the chance to watch Erin’s wild side come out and play.

I’m desperately in love with Wrath from J. R. Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood series.

  2. This sounds awesome! Count me in. My favorite romantic hero has to be Jamie from Outlander. Who doesn’t love a man with a Scottish accent who is all set on protecting his woman?

  3. Terri says:

Pretty orange cover! I love orange!

My favorite romance hero of all time? That’s a tough one. Hmmmm…think I’ll have to go with Jamie from Outlander. He was so patient with Claire, yet never patronizing or condescending. There are so many great romantic heroes out there, but Jamie has a special place in my heart.

  4. SusiSunshine says:

Hey that sounds great. My favorite hero is Bones from Jeaniene Frost’s Night Huntress series. You know chapter 32 in book 2(One Foot in the Grave) does that to a girl.LOL

  5. jennifer says:

hmmm favorite romance hero of all time that is a tough one… I think Kaden from Feehan’s Ghostwalker series is one of my top choices. I love her men in that series. I also love Ilya from her Drake sisters series. She writes a good hero.

  6. Leontine says:

OMG look at that cover *sigh*, okay that was my gushing over cover but wow, Cynthia what an incredible new series you’ve got lined up for us! 😀

One of my all time favorite heroes is Daemon from Anne Bishop’s Black jewel trilogy *me so hearts him*

  7. It’s not an easy question, right now i’m in love with Ian from Jennifer Ashley’s The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie.Hot Hot Hot!

  8. Lou says:

Ooh. Very shiny. Enter me please. 🙂

Hmm. My favourite romance hero of all time has to be Roarke from the In Death series.

There’s gotta be a real one of him out there…right?

  9. Rose Miller says:

Would love to win one of your ARC’s! My favorite romantic hero of all time would have to be Rhett Butler. I fell in love with him the first time I read “Gone With the Wind” at age 13. Currently I love the hot vampires of the Black Dagger Brotherhood in the JR Ward books.

  10. Stacy W says:

I love love love the bad boy Dorian from Richelle Mead’s Dark Swan series. 😀

  11. Terri W. says:

    Oh I love the cover!

Hmm I have two favorite heroes and they are Zarek from Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Darkhunter series and Zsadist from J.R. Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood series.

  12. Brandy says:

Ooh, pretty ARC’s! *G* I would have to also say Roarke from J.D. Robb’s In Death series. He’s always there for Eve. He accepts her, foibles, and all and he will go to the ends of the earth to protect her. Even by placing his own life in danger. THAT is a hero.
That said, and I’m not sucking up, swear. Niol. NO joke. He also is one who will go to the ends of the earth to protect the ones he cares for and if that person was hurt? He would make sure the person who hurt them was either dead, or wished they were.

Why yes, I do like my hero’s with a big ‘ol protector streak in them. *G*

  13. Jenn says:

Your cover is excellent and I would be thrilled with a blaze orange book to keep me safe during hunting season!

All these amazing women before me have named some truly excellent choices (I especially agree with Jamie from Outlander series and Bones from Jeanienne Frost’s series) but my all time favorite is Jane Austen’s Fitzwilliam Darcy – Pride and Prejudice is my annual reading pilgrimage since I was 17 (and that was a REALLY long time ago!)

  14. Willa says:

Linda Howard’s Kell Sabin from Diamond Bay. *swoon* Then again no post is complete until I have mentioned Colin from Hotter After Midnight! 😀

  15. Hands down Roarke, I just want to eat him alive. JD Robb IN Death series.

  16. Cheryl McInnis says:

    I love the orange cover….very striking! :- )
There are so many heroes that I love……but the most memorable for me is probably Lachlain from Kresley Cole’s
A Hunger Like No Other. I mean, he ripped off his leg to get to his mate. That’s one heroic, and horny, dude!

  17. Well I have to say I’m with MarnieColette with Roarke. I also want to eat him alive because he is a sexy, smart Irishman who has a body and voice to die for. If only he were a living person instead of a character in my favorite series IN DEATH by J.D. Robb.

I would love to win and read the first book in your Night Watch bounty hunter series long before anyone else. That cover is beatiful and I agree with Cheryl McInnis that the orange ARC cover is very striking so if I am lucky enough to win one I will never lose it in the dark. LOL.

  18. Donna S says:

I love Roarke from the In Death books.

  19. Edie says:

Even your ARC looks good! Love the bright orange, too. Hard to miss that.

It’s also hard to pick the best hero. I’m bucking the trend here and choosing Phin Tucker from Jennifer Crusie’s Welcome to Temptation. He’s smart, sexy and has a sense of humor. His only drawback is his mother. 😯

  20. Ashley V says:

I dunno if I can pick one…. Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Acheron, or Nalini Singh Hawke… can I have both?

  21. Jane says:

I love Gabe from Cindy Gerard’s “Show No Mercy.” He’s a true alpha hero. Must be exciting to receive the box of ARCs.

  22. There are a lot of heroes that I love but I’m going to go with the first favorite that I thought up: Bones from Jeaniene Frost’s Night Huntress series.

  23. Morning Glow says:

My favorite romance hero of all time.. Jeez! I would have to say Valerius from Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Dark-Hunter series. Poor guy is tortured.. screw the girl he ended up with, I’ll take care of him way better!

I hope I win! I’d love the change to review it on my blog!
    Thanks!

  24. Raonaid Luckwell says:

Leontine I lubs you for saying “Daemon” from Black Jewels Series!

Wow, so hard to decide. Like Leontine stated Daemon is just sooo yummy but so isn’t Acheron from Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Dark-Hunters (since my Dev bear hasn’t had a story out yet)

  25. Wow I can’t believe how many responses are already here. Hope this is a harbinger of sales for you 🙂

My fav romance hero is not a paranormal hero, and by some isn’t even from a novel considered to be a romance, just fiction. But for me he is the ultimate romance hero, he is Jamie Fraser from Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander. He is the standard that I hold all other heroes too.

I am anxious to read this new series and would love to win an ARC and help you promote it’s release in January!

  26. Elaine G says:

    I love that cover.
I really like Rhage from the Black Dagger Brotherhood Series.

  27. Taylor Z says:

My favorite hero is Curran from Kate Daniels Series by Ilona Andrews.

  28. Audrey A says:

That is such a hard question, but I think it would have to be Bowen from Dark Deeds on a Winter’s Night.

  29. Chelsea B. says:

My favorite hero is Ian Mackenzie from Jennifer Ashley’s ‘The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie’ What a fantastic book that was!

  30. Jess C. says:

I love Cadeon from Kresley Cole’s Dark Desires After Dusk.

  31. Natasha A. says:

    I love them all….hmm
I LOVE the tortured hero Zsadist! I love Roarke….I love the boys in LKH’s Gentry series……
    So many 😀

Oh and YEAH! Congrats on the Arc’s that is awesome! Woot! Halloween is coming!

  32. Lori T says:

I have to agree with Rose…all time favorite would probably have to be Rhett Butler. He is just the perfect mix of rogue and gentleman.

Wow, another excellent cover! I am really looking forward to reading this one.

  33. Pamk says:

you know I’d love to win one of your arcs. so far your books have been keepers to me. and this one will probably be no different and my favorite romantic hero veries depending on what I read lately. I love Wrath from Larissa Ione demonica series. Zarak from Sherrilyn Kenyon’s and any of Lora Leigh’s seals. Bones from Jeannine Frost’s series and many more

  34. The Warrior says:

*bangs head against screen* So many choices to just pick just ONE! Cynthia is ebil!!!!!!!!! lol Wrath(for obvious reasons:D), Zarek and Valerius, Nykryian(Born of The Night by Sherrilyn), Bones(Jeannine Frost), Roarke, though that Niol is right up there:D

  35. Karen W says:

My favorite romantic and sexiest hero that came to mind was wonderful Roark. He just has it all…but if I was to pick a second favorite, it would be Wolf MacKenzie from Linda Howard’s MacKenzie’s Mountain..love, love, love that story…I’ve read it multiple times.

  36. Heather Brewer says:

    Cynthia,

love the actual cover and can’t wait to get ahold of this book. Count me in.

I have to agree though you are evil. Just one, can’t do it. Love the guys from Black Dagger Brotherhood, Kresley Cole’s Immortals after dark series and the changelings from Nalini Singh’s series. Roarke isn’t too back himself.

  37. Pam P says:

My top favorite is Derek Craven (Dreaming of You by Kleypas). Bones and Zarek are favorites of mine, too; and Jericho Barrons from Moning’s Fever series sure is one intriguing and mysterious antihero.

  38. Has says:

I have to say my top five heroes – I cant choose just one 😛 has to be Adam from the Mercy Thompson series, Curran from the Kate Daniels serie, Lord Ian- The Madness of Lord Ian, Vane and Rourke 😀

  39. Chris says:

Roarke from the J.D. Robb books and Acheron from the Dark-Hunter books.

  40. Jody F. says:

I have quite a few that I really like, but to pick one I’d have to say Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Acheron.

And I love the orange cover. It’s festive and would stick out on the shelf.

  41. Cathy M says:

Definitely Roarke. Love watching the relationship grow and flourish between him and Eve, there is growth there in every story and it’s fascinating. Roarke just happens to be richer than God, but at his core, he adores Eve and as their love evolves, they continue to grow even stronger as a couple.

  42. Cybercliper says:

Ok, it’s a toss up between Ward’s Vishous from the BDB or Zarek from Kenyon’s Dance with the Devil. Who knew I liked ’em so mean and snarly… 😀

  43. Oooh, pwetty! Okay, heroes. Hm…so difficult to choose. It’s a tie: Mr. Darcy, J.D. Robb’s Roarke, and J.R. Ward’s John Matthew!!!

  44. Kate says:

Oh, wow. “Simple”, you say! LOL. Very, very tough, say I. Love all of JR Wards vamps, and several others mentioned here, but I’ll go with the very first one I fell in love back when I was still in grade school. Alex Trevegne from Laurie McBain’s Devil’s Desire. He got me going down that romance road. 🙂

  45. Diane Sadler says:

    Very Halloween-ish!
Acheron, after feeling so sad reading the first part of the book, then reading his current life and still you feel sad for him; I loved his story, don’t get me wrong and will read again and again.

  46. Michele says:

Oh gosh, this is hard Cynthia! Picking just one… hmmm I would have to say Mikhail Dubrinsky from Christine Feehan’s Dark Series.

  47. Janet H says:

Rhage from JR Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood series.

  48. Angela says:

For me it would have to be Adam Brody from IMMORTAL DANGER. Totally fell for him 😀

  49. Pam says:

I love Zsadist from J.R. Ward. I also love Lara Adrian’s Midnight Breeds and Gena Showalter’s Lords Of The Underworld and Jacquelyn Frank’s Nightwalkers and Nalini Singh’s Changelings and Cynthia Eden’s Midnight Trilogy guys especially Niol and oh was I only supposed to pick one??? Impossible

  50. Jacqueline L. says:

Fitzwilliam Darcy from Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice. *happy sigh* 🙂
