One Deadly Weekend… Back to Blog

Update: The winner of the Deadly Heat ARC and the Deadly Lies ARC is…Natasha A! Congrats, Natasha!

I interrupt this monster bash talk to bring you…ARCs.  I know, I know–my Halloween blog party has been about paranormal creatures so far. Ahem. I’m switching things up just a wee bit today. You see, I have two ARCs that I want to give to one commenter.

I have an ARC of DEADLY HEAT:

And I have an ARC of DEADLY LIES:

DEADLY HEAT is the second book in my romantic suspense series, and DEADLY LIES is the third.  Want to win them both?  I’ll pick one commenter to get both books…just tell me the name of the scariest book you’ve ever read–or the scariest movie you’ve ever seen.

See…simple!! Have a fabulous weekend!

    Hey Cynthia,
Can’t wait for the rest of your series to be released! So excited! Of course, that just makes winning an ARC that much more fun, and necessary. 🙂 Scariest movie? The original Halloween, no doubt!
    Have a great weekend!

  2. Scott says:

The scariest movie was probably Nightmare on Elm Street(the original). Don’t watch many scary movies

  3. Kelsey O. says:

The scariest movie I have ever seen was IT. I have never been able to look at clowns ever since!!

    Thanks for the great giveaway!!

  4. Lucy says:

Just watched a scary movie today with my husband. We watched Paranormal Activity I and I’m a real chicken, so it scared the crap out of me, LOL.

Please enter me in the contest.

  5. Jamie B says:

Oh I love scary movies so that is really hard question..LOL I guess I would have to say paranormal activity because it just looked so real even without all the blood and gore in most scary movies. I would also have to go with the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. That movie use to scare the crap out of me when I was a kid but I loved it anyway.

  6. Viki says:

I was in college when the original Halloween came out and even though I was sicker than a dog I went to see it with them. Don’t know if really was the scariest movie I ever saw or the hallucinations from my 104 temperature. But that movie nailed me. As for book – when I was little (around 10) it was the Old Testament. Scared me big time. Then I read the new and decided to refer to God as Big Daddy – all the fear gone :).

  7. Teresa Mousseau says:

You know the first thing that came to my mind was AmietyVille Horror (not sure if I spelled that right). I was in high school when I read the book then later saw the movie. Some things stay with you. There have been more since but that one gets me. xoxoT

  8. Deborah says:

Scariest movie I ever saw was Halloween. Runnersup: House of Wax, Freaks and Eraserhead. Yeah, mine are all old because I wised up to how little I enjoyed them so I don’t watch scary movies any more.

  9. Cindy says:

Probably the book that scared me the most was Stephen King’s “It”. I was a teenager when I read it and usually had Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons” playing in the background. To this day, when I hear “Spring” I get a little nervous…

  10. Colleen says:

Scariest movie… Nightmare on Elm Street… that movie gave me nightmares!!!

  11. Pearl says:

Oh dear! If I confess my scariest movie here I will be showing my utter whimpyness but ah well for Deadly ARCs I’m willling to do anything (even watch really scary movies) so here goes:

    Silence of the Lambs

In my defense: I was about 19, and I was peer-pressured by my girl-friends otherwise I would’ve never went into the movie theatre to see it.

*covers face in shame now and hides*

  12. Jessie Wammock says:

Has to be Nightmare on Elm Street. That movie cured me of ever wanting to see scary movies again, and I haven’t since! I’ll take a nice, tame chick flick 🙂

  13. Lori T says:

OMG, Black Christmas(1974)scared the crap out of me and still does to this day. I can’t watch it even thou it looks so cheesy. I’ve got goose bumps just thinking about it….LOL.

  14. The movie that freaks me out the most is The Ring! The funniest scary movie I’ve ever seen that was meant to be scary – Drag Me to Hell.

  15. Jane says:

Hellraiser was and still is the scariest movies I’ve ever seen.

  16. gloriabath says:

I also agree with the others regarding, “Nightmare on Elmstreet” and Stephen Kings “It”. But I gotta say, the movie “The Omen” still creeps me out to this day!

  17. Jocelyn G. says:

The scariest movie I’ve seen so far (I don’t watch a lot of scary movies) is The Exorcist!

  18. Donyale says:

I don’t usually like scary movies… I’ll admit it I’m a scary cat! But my sister made me watch Saw … I barely got through it and was paranoid for weeks after

    Thanks For the giveaway!!

  19. Amanda says:

I am a bog horror movie person, my two favorites and scariest ones to me are “Amityville Horror” and “The Shining”

  20. Kim Connor says:

Let’s see, the scariest movie I have ever seen… Hard to pick one, but I would say that when I saw “The Blair Witch Project” at the movies I was pretty scared, to the point that I didn’t want to get out of my car when I got home! I like movies that scare the crap out of you without all the blood and gore.. 🙂

  21. Barb P says:

Hi Cynthia! As always, I tend to go for the classics. 2 of the scariest movies I have ever seen (at least when I was young, and they still bother me today) is Night of the Living Dead and The Exorcist. Another movie that I love, yet still makes me real nervous is The Birds. I can’t help but think that maybe that could actually happen. I really really want one of those ARCs!!! LOL Have a great weekend.

  22. Jolene Allcock says:

The scariest book I have read was IT, I have it sitting on my shelf but I refuse to ever pick it up again. Movies…Let’s see, I saw the first Saw and that was enough for me. Anytime a new Saw comes out and my husband rents it, in the other room I go. Zombies, anything zombie related I steer clear from and Pet Cemetery. The scene where the little boy goes crazy and try’s to kill his parents is high on my freak out factor

  23. Movies that scared slash disturbed the hell out of me? The first Wrong Turn and the first The Hills Have Eyes. But I watched them regardless. 😉

  24. Beth B. says:

scariest book that I will never read again…. Phantoms by Dean Koontz
scariest movie(s)… Nightmare on Elm Street(from some scenes I saw) and/or Friday the 13(or the movie where someone is hit with a clothes line pole;or what I remember from childhood)

  25. Carrie says:

The scariest book I’ve ever read was IT by Stephen King. I couldn’t sleep for several nights after reading that book. I hate scary movies, but watch them with my husband occasionally. The most recent one for me was SAW.

  26. Virna DePaul says:

Anything to do with exorcism/possession is super scary to me. I haven’t seen the Exorcist but I still freak out if I think about the clown scene in Poltergeist. I also saw a pretty scary movie about a Ouija board.

  27. Cathy M says:

The scariest book was It by Stephen King, and the scariest movie was The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. My boyfriend mistakenly thought that his holding my hand thoughout the movie would keep me in my seat, lol. He watched, I sat in the lobby.

  28. Valerie says:

    Oh, me, me!!!!

Scariest film? I guess the Exorcist….the original. I was a teenager when I went to see it….!!!!

  29. The scariest movie I have ever seen is Paranormal Activity. That movie kept me up all night LOL and I am normally very good about that kind of stuff. I LOVE scary movies…

  30. The scariest book I ever read was Pet Cemetery by Stephen King. I wouldn’t read it while I was alone in the house. 🙂

    Cheers,
    Kelly

  31. cories5 says:

I haven’t seen a scary movie in so long… “The Sixth Sense” was more creepy than scary. How about “The Entity” with Barbara Hershey? Invisible demon rapists.

  32. Kelly Thrash says:

The Hills Have Eyes messed me up but when I was in jr high my “friends” made me watch arachnophobia (sp). I’m terrified of spiders and it got even worse after watching that!!!

  33. Jillian says:

The Exorcist!! Am loving this month on you blog. Such fun.

  34. khelsey says:

I would say IT or Candyman. I havent read anyones that are scary.

  35. Wendi says:

For me it was Carrie – I saw it as a young girl and that movie scared the bejeezus out of me and I guess that feeling of dread stayed with me. I think if I were to see it again today as an adult, I’d probably laugh.

  36. Taylor Z says:

More contests!!! Whooo!! I’ve never read a super scary book like Cujo or those other Stephen King novels. I stay far far far away from those. Give me romance and paranormal, but leave the scary for the rest of the world.

  37. One of these days I’m going to win one of these! 🙂 Anything by Stephen King scared the heck out of me. Every time. And as for the scariest movie-it was an old one called Prince of Darkness. WAY scary and I snuck and saw it way too young.

  38. Cheryl McInnis says:

Scariest movie that I’ve seen is The Changeling…that creepy kid with the ball ::shiver::
Scariest book…hmm, because I’m a woman its probably The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood 😉

  39. Chelsea B. says:

Well, I’ve never actually read a scary book, but I will say that I think the scariest movie EVEA is The Ring two (I only say The Ring Two because I’ve never seen the first LOL). I swear, I freaked out for a week 😉

  40. Debra says:

Books don’t scare me, I love them when they are a little scary. The scariest movie I ever saw would have to be The Silence of the Lambs. I can remember watching that movie home alone one night. I swear I was up night just holding my dog! Just something about that movie got to me!!

  41. Stephanie G says:

IT for sure on both counts. I think the book is scarier because there is more in it that the movie left out.

  42. Lisa Dennin says:

I haven’t read a scary book, but the scariest movie I have ever seen is Jeepers Creepers. !!!!

  43. Pamk says:

The stand scared the crap out of me and Silence of Lambs was the movie.

  44. Desiree says:

Scariest movie I have seen is Saw. I hate those movies I get so scared watching them.

  45. chey says:

The scariest movie I ever saw was Jaws. I was fairly young, maybe that’s why it scared me so much.

  46. Donna S says:

Awesome, cant wait to read both. I couldnt put down Deadly Fear.

Scariest movie I ever saw was The Exorcist. Scariest book was Salem’s Lot. I kept expecting to see someone outside my window after I finished reading it.

  47. Diane Sadler says:

The Exorcist. To this day I can’t watch this movie . And this is where, can’t even remember his name now, a guy took me on our first date. I’m sure you know how that romance ,not, ended.

  48. maria says:

The scariest movie I’ve ever seen was The Amityville Horror. Watched as a kid and I still can’t watch it alone.

Loved Deadly Fear. Very anxious to read Deadly Heat and Deadly lies.
