Hi, I’m Jillian Chantal. First I want to congratulate Cynthia on her release day yesterday! I’m so excited to read this next book in the Deadly series. Second, I want to thank her for including little ole me in this fun group of ladies posting in celebration of “My Deadly Valentine.” It makes me feel loved when I get invited to participate in awesome events! And now to the deadly valentine parts:

The patron saint of the holiday was subjected to a deadly end himself. Around the year 269-270 A.D., the emperor of Rome at the time made marriage illegal as there was apparently a law that married men couldn’t be drafted and men were needed for the army. Valentine continued to marry people in secret and when the emperor found out, he sentenced Valentine to be beaten and beheaded for breaking the law. So the holiday of love which was named for this martyr had its beginnings in death.

Fast forward to another deadly day associated with St. Valentine. Many centuries and a continent away, in Prohibition era Chicago, Illinois, seven men were killed in a gang war. It seems that Bugs Moran, the leader of the North Side Irish gang, had his men machine gun the headquarters of Al Capone, the leader of the South Side Italian gang. In retaliation, Capone hired some thugs to shoot into the warehouse where Moran’s men were gathered. It appears they thought Moran was there as well but he wasn’t. The hit order was on Moran but he escaped. The men who perpetuated the crime were never found, tried or convicted. This massacre occurred on February 14, 1929.

Now that we’ve talked about all this real death, let’s talk a bit about my new releases. I have two books coming out in 2011. One is called Surfer Bride and it’s with SirenBookStrand Mainstream romance and is slated to be released in April. The other is called Redemption for the Devil from Desert Breeze Publishing and is to be released in July 2011. I have one already out with BookStrand as well called Solo Honeymoon. Each of them are deadly in their own ways. I won’t ruin any of their plots but they have weapons, danger, death, and angst galore. I’m putting the trailers here if you want to look at them. No pressure!

I will be giving away three things today to three commenters: One will be a copy of the ebook Solo Honeymoon, one will be a “Live, Love, Surf” magnet for Surfer Bride and last will be a magnet with the City of New York and Cunard ships on it for Redemption for the Devil. I won’t even test you to see if you watched the trailers. I’ll just have random.org pick three winners.

Thanks again, Cynthia, for letting me play with you today!

Thanks for having me here today, Cynthia. I’ll be tied up (not literally- darn it) til about 3:30 pm in court for the day job but I’ll check in as soon as I get a chance.

  4. Danica Avet says:

Jillian, the trailers look great! You have far more patience than I do, LOL.

Poor Valentine, beheaded for marrying people. But I suppose his good work lives on as Valentine’s Day is one of the most romantic holidays of the year. Great information, as usual, my friend!

  5. Jean says:

I liked all the trailers, especially liked the Surfer Bride trailer. Will be putting all these books on my list to buy, all sound so great.

    • Jillian says:

Thanks Jean, glad you liked them. I’m kind of partial to Surfer Bride’s hero, myself. Means a lot that you’re going to read them.

  6. Cynthia Eden says:

    • Jillian says:

Valerie- I DID do them myself. Shocked myself- I’m not very computer savvy and I think I did pretty well. LOL! Glad you liked them.

I like Valentine’s Day as well. Fun holiday!

What awesome trailers and yes I did watch each one. I am commenting but if my name comes up for the ebook..redraw so some one with an ereader can enjoy the book. I do not have an ereader and don’t want to take the book from some one who does. I just have to say thanks for the infor as I was one who was wondering about Valentine’s Day. I just learnt so much from this. I want to say thanks for the time and effort it took you to do this one. susan Leech garysue@dejazzd.com

    • Jillian says:

Thanks Susan for watching them all, thinking they are awesome AND for liking the post. It was not too much effort. I carry a lot of useless info in my head. LOL! Glad you learned something new. I like to keep on learning every day myself.

  10. Nice trailers. I will admit while I am a big fan of chocolate I am not a bit fan of Valentine’s Day (I have reasons – I DO!)- I celebrate it by wearing all black and just ignoring all the rest.

The stories sound amazing — I love action, adventure and men. (not in that order of course)

Srsly — you aren’t going to test us? 🙁

    • Jillian says:

I love action, adventure and men, too! LOL! And I love chocolate.

Thanks for thinking the stories sound amazing. That means a ton to me. I try to make them plot heavy!

Ok here’s a test just for you- What city does Liam Cormac hail from?

  11. Viki says:

WOW three trailers – they’re excellent. Thank you.

  12. Colleen says:

I do not usually watch trailers, but I enjoyed watching yours. I have to look for your books, you are a new to me author…

  13. Danielle Gorman says:

I’m not the biggest fan of book trailers but I watched yours and they were pretty good. I would really like to read your books.

    • Jillian says:

Thanks Danielle. I tried to make them short because some of them I’ve tried to watch went on far too long. These are each under a minute an 20 seconds- about my attention span! LOL!

  14. Michele says:

    Hi Jillian 🙂

So glad you stopped by and brought your trailers! I have never read any of your books, but you grabbed my attention with those trailers 😀 Definitely will be looking for your books in April and July. Quick question, are all 3 of the books meant to be stand alone?

Thanks for little more history on Valentine’s Day 🙂

    • Jillian says:

Michele- yes, they are all stand alone books. Solo Honeymoon is a contemporary with a British heroine, Surfer Bride is a contemp. and has an American heroine and Redemption for the Devil is a historical with an Irish heroine. None are related and none have any of the same characters.

Glad the trailers grabbed your attention and that you’ll be looking for me as these come out. Thanks for coming by Cynthia’s party!

  15. Diane Sadler says:

    I liked your trailers!

  16. Darlene says:

The trailers are awesome and what a great post too. Danica is right you always have the most interesting information to share and for those of you who don’t know Jillian, she has all that information in her head she didn’t have to spend any time researching to write this post. She’s amazing. Can’t wait for those next books.
