Time for an ARC Giveaway!! Back to Blog

I am in the process of getting some promotional mailings ready and I realized–I’ve got some extra ARCs! So how about an ARC giveaway?

On 06/29/10, I’LL BE SLAYING YOU will hit store shelves. But why wait until then to read my latest Night Watch story?  Someone can win and read now!

ill-be-slaying-you

Here’s the blurb:

Cynthia Eden returns to the realm of the Other, where the supernatural bounty hunters of Night Watch work hard and play harder…

Sandra “Dee” Daniels is a vampire’s worst nightmare. Sure, she couldn’t get up to five-six in the highest heels money can buy—not that she ever wears heels. But the monsters in her past and the stake in her boot are enough to keep most bloodsuckers interested in staying undead out of Baton Rouge.

But there are changes afoot on her turf. Rumors of a Born Master in town—a vampire so powerful he can make the streets run with blood. And a new face in Dee’s dive bars and alleyways—Simon Chase, a strong, sexy shadow with a haunted past of his own. Simon knows a lot about the dark side of Dee’s work. He knows even more about how to make her body spark with desire. But the hot lust shimmering between them is only the beginning. Because Simon also knows a secret that will change Dee’s life—if she can live long enough to uncover it.

***

I’ve got an excerpt up if you’d like to read a teaser from the story.

Want to win?  Then just leave me a comment and tell me the title of your all-time favorite scary movie.  I’ll let the ARC contest run until  Monday, March 29th at 8:00 a.m. Good luck!

And to get things started…my all-time favorite scary movie is…Lake Placid.  Not super scary, I know, but campy fun and with a nice little romance thrown in to keep me entertained.  🙂

Have a good weekend!

    Beetlejuice.

  2. WendyK says:

humm this is hard but probably DEEP BLUE SEA, mostly because I can so see it happening NOW.

I also would say most of Stephen Kings are creepy and one I can’t stand to watch but still remember 20some years later, HELLRAISER OMG that’s sooo not a movie kids should watch. And CHILDREN OF THE CORN(the org.)do not watch when you live near cornfields.

Have you seen LAKE PLACID 2?

FINAL DESTINATION isn’t really “horror” but it’s scary, in parts.

I always found NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET funny, might be because I lived on Elm Street when it came out on DVD/VHS as the time, and I loved playing it at the house for friends………they get freaked out over the street name, I’d laugh my head off.

I’m trying to think, there was one………..ohh there is are a couple of military movies that are scary!

Okay going now. I’d love to win this one.
    hugs,
    WendyK

I’ve never been one to watch scary movies – just don’t like the shock factor. BUT, the scariest movie I ever saw was probably “Something Wicked This Way Comes”. It was produced by Disney so I figured that it wouldn’t be scary – fool that I was!

I don’t like scary movies – I have enough on my plate just dealing with spirits that won’t cross over!

  4. Frana says:

A Nightmare on Elm Street – I feel Freddy Krueger’s breath on me just thinking about the movie 🙂

  5. Ilona says:

I hate scary movies! Luckily I love reading romances etc. so I can leave the TV/cinema to the rest of the family when Horror is showing 😀

Love the look on the cover, that is some great looking flesh 😉

  6. Willa says:

And last but not least I hope . . . moi!

Hmmm . . I don’t watch scary/horror movies, does that rule me out? The only one that was scary that came to mind was Jaws – when the music starts and you still jump a mile when Jaws comes out of the water! Lol 😀

  7. Diane Sadler says:

My first date, and my last, this guy brought me to The Exorcist; to this day I hate that movie and wouldn’t encourage anyone to watch it.
But I would love to read your book.

  8. WendyK says:

    I thought I’d posted but I don’t see it.

    I’m saying FINAL DESTINATION

    hugs,
    WendyK

  9. Michele says:

For me, SCREAM!! To this day that masks gives me the heebie jeebies 🙁

  10. Barbara Elness says:

I’ve never been a fan of scary movies, but the scariest movie I’ve ever seen is Alien. I went to the movies thinking I was going to see a nice science fiction movie and ended up getting scared witless.
Getting to read I’ll Be Slaying You early would be really great, thanks for the chance to win.

  11. Pamk says:

scariest movie i’ve ever seen was signs and man when he was going to commet suicide to give his boy his heart that was darn scary to me. I don’t like a lot of scray movies ususally they have too stupid to live people unfortunately these are normally heroines who go where they should or don’t finish the job. Girl when you get the bad guy/monster down just cut his head off. That will work lol I love this series and would love to win this one.

  12. Larena Wirum says:

I am going to have to go with Silence of the Lambs. I love psychological thrillers. I think they are a lot more scary since they play with your mind. 🙂

  13. Terri says:

The scariest movie I watched was “Jack Be Nimble” because it was very scary and well acted psychological thriller.

  14. Jennie says:

More suspenseful than scary, but Wait Until Dark is my fave scary movie. Audrey Hepburn’s tense performance as a blind woman made me feel as trapped and helpless as she was. Alan Arkin was terrifying.

  15. Angela says:

Scariest movie for me would be have to Taken. Not because of it being in the horror/scary genre, but because that stuff probably happens every day. By the end of that movie I think it took my heart an hour just to calm down.

  16. Amy R says:

For me the scariest movie had to be THE HOUSE OF WAX with Vincent Price. Classic horror 🙂

  17. Wow this has brought back memories from reading all the others picks, have to say that there are some good movies out there that qualify as truly horrifying but mine is just good plain old fashioned movie making at it’s finest before so many special effects and CG became the norm.
Favorite “scary movie” is “The Shining” starring Jack Nicholson. There are others out there but for sheer psycho impact Jack is the best!!!!

Congrats on the new release and thanks for the fun giveaway, good luck all!!

  18. Netti says:

Silence of the Lambs… never fails in freaking me out!!

  19. Spav says:

My favourite scary movie is The Shining.

  20. Sue A. says:

It’s a toss up between The Shining and Silence of the Lambs. I think having seen them in a dark movie theatre added to the whole scary experience.

  21. Amy W says:

Scary movie…. for me it would have to be the Children of the Corn. Can’t drive by a corn field without thinking of that movie 🙁
