Would You Want to Know? Back to Blog

Update:  Thanks for all the great comments! 🙂 The winner (by random selection) is…Darcy. Congrats, Darcy!!

Hi, everyone!  Today,  urban fantasy & paranormal romance author Rosalie Lario is my guest. I was lucky enough to read an early copy of Rosalie’s book, BLOOD OF THE DEMON, and I loved the tale. 😉 I can’t wait to read more of her work.

Rosalie, thank you for joining us today!

***

First I’d like to say thanks so much, Cynthia, for having me on your blog. Today I’m here to talk about my brand-spanking new release.

Blood of the Demon features Brynn Meyers, a (mostly) human woman who is thrust into the world of the supernatural when a demon with designs on Earth decides to use an ancient spellbook (the Book of the Dead) to raise an army of zombies. The problem? The resurrection spell can only be recited by the heir to the creator of the Book—and that’s Brynn.

Brynn’s whole world is turned upside down when she learns there are multiple dimensions from which different species of beings derive (demons, shifters, vampires, fae: you name it). Inter-dimensional travel is governed by a political council of elders called the Elden Council. Though most humans don’t know it, New York City contains one of the portals allowing for travel between dimensions, and a lot of the people walking the streets aren’t at all human. Once she learns all of this, her life will never again be the same.

I can’t help but wonder, what if there really were multiple dimensions from which all the creatures that we think of as mythical originated? What if they had the capacity to blend in with humans so most people would never know the difference? Would I really want to know?

I like to think that yes, I could handle that type of knowledge without completely freaking my s***t out. But I honestly don’t know if that’s true. Having to wonder if the next person I met might be a demon who delights in eating human flesh, or a vampire who can’t live without human blood… yeah, maybe those things are better left unknown. So what about you? Would you want to know?

Everyone who tells me their preference in the comments will be entered to win a PDF copy of Blood of the Demon!

BLURB FOR BLOOD OF THE DEMON: Keegan lives to exact revenge on the evil demon who sired and abused him. When his father devises a plan to bring on the apocalypse, he and his three half-brothers, interdimensional bounty hunters for the Elden Council, are charged with capturing and delivering their father for punishment.

Art gallery owner Brynn Meyers has no idea that her ability to read memories embedded in objects and drain people of their life force means she has demon ancestry. Unfortunately for Brynn, she’s also the key to raising an ancient zombie army, which puts her on every demon’s Most Wanted List.

And no one wants her more than Keegan’s father.

Keegan must protect Brynn from his father by any means necessary, but he’ll have to learn to harness the other half of his genetics—the far deadlier, uncontrollable half—when he starts to fall for the one woman standing between him and the vengeance he so desperately seeks. The one woman he’ll never be able to resist.

  1. Thanks so much, Cynthia, for having me on your site today. I’ve been drooling over your cover for your upcoming release, Angel of Darkness. Can’t wait for that one. 🙂

  2. […] the release of my steamy paranormal romance, BLOOD OF THE DEMON.  Want to win a copy? Stop by Cynthia Eden‘s blog and tell me whether you would want to know if supernatural beings really existed! […]

    • Nicole says:

I think I would like to know if supernatural beings lived alongside us regular people. And I’d like to think I could handle it too! Looking forward to reading BLOOD OF THE DEMON!

  3. Sarah Gilman says:

Morning, Rosalie! I already own your book, but to answer your question anyway…. OH H*LL YES! I want to know! Excitement! 😉 But of course, I hope I wouldn’t get eaten…

  4. Cynthia Eden says:

Hi, Rosalie! Thanks so much for joining us today–and thanks for writing such a fabulous book!

  5. Marika Weber says:

I wouldn’t be scared if they existed. I would be fascinated by it all. Blood of the Demon looks really, really good. Thanks for the blurb and the opportunity.

  7. Jus Accardo says:

    Hey Rosalie! Awesome post 🙂

I’m with Sarah. I’d TOTALLY want to know–without the being munched part 😀

BLOOD OF THE DEMON is in my TBR pile. I can;t wait to get started on it.

  8. Cate Lord says:

What an intriguing premise for BLOOD OF THE DEMON. I love the idea of beings originating from multiple dimensions. Would I want to know if the people walking near me on the street are demons or vampires or other mythological creatures? Yes, I think I would–although I admit I’d probably be a bit freaked out. 🙂

  9. Peggy says:

I’d rather not know. I have enough to worry about after dark (big chicken here). Of course, a hunky demon-protector might not be so bad *going off on a mental holiday*

  10. Hi Rosalie, I draw the line at blood sucking.

  11. Cherie Singer says:

Interesting reading–thank you. And yes, I would definitely want to know; after all, forewarned and all that jazz!

  12. Khelsey says:

I would love to know! This book looks sooo good it just went on my TBR list! 😀

  13. Wow, most of you are pretty damn brave! Peggy, I feel ya. I get scared walking around the outside of my house at night. In my defense, I live in a country-like setting and it’s dark as hell out there. Plus, I’m Puerto Rican; I’m always afraid a chupacabra is going to attack me, lol.

  14. Michele says:

    Hi Rosalie,

Your book sounds GREAT! I just checked out your website and your other book, FOR THE LOVE OF AN ANGEL, is another book I am going to have to add to my TBR list. How many books do you see in your new series, Demons of Infernum?

To answer you question, I wouldn’t want to know, I already have a vivid imagination 🙂

  15. Tracy March says:

    Hi Rosalie,

Yes! I’d want to know. If the supernatural beings would sit down with me (without me being the entree), I’d love to learn about them, their so-called lives, and their dimensions. Bring it!

  16. Michele, I know what you mean; my imagination is far too vivid already! Right now I have four books contracted in the series, plus a novella which will release in January. We’ll see how it goes. 🙂

  17. Laura Kaye says:

Fun question, Rosalie, and great post! Hmm…I’d like to think, too, that I’d want to know. For myself, it would be cool. As a parent, though, it would be horrible knowing those additional and oh so powerful dangers were out there in the world. Way to go practical on you, huh? LOL

  18. JenM says:

Personally, I don’t think I’d want to know. I have enough trouble worrying about normal stuff that I have no control over. I think I’d be afraid to leave my house if I found out there were vamps, demons, etc. out there. Plus, the reason I like UF is that it isn’t real. I wouldn’t be able to read it any more if it was real after all. LOL.

  19. Larena Wirum says:

Yes I would want to know. I think it would make life extremely interesting. LOL 🙂

  20. Aubrie says:

I would LOVE to know. Then I wouldn’t feel as crazy. I think I’d get along with those mythical creatures very well. 🙂

  21. Darcy says:

I really wouldn’t mind knowing. We can’t be arrogant enough to believe that we are the only living thing in the universe can we? …LOL. We can’t always live in fear….*S*

Thank you for the contest..I would love to win & read your book1

  22. Lizzielvr says:

Hi Rosalie! I loved “For Love of an Angel”, looking forward to this book as well. On to the question…

Yes, I would definitely want to know if there multiple dimensions and honestly, I believe there are (and no I’m not crazy LOL)

And hello Cynthia! Love your books!

  23. Angela M says:

Hmmmm, interesting question 🙂 Part of me says I would want to know but I think when it came down to it I wouldn’t want to know. I think I will just stay in the dark 🙂

  24. May says:

Of course I would want to know. 🙂 Much more interesting with so many different people…

  25. Ilona says:

Hi Rosalie. The book sounds lovely but I prefer that kind of thing in a book not for real. I wouldn’t like to know at all – I’d be too scared to leave the house if I knew there were real Vampires and demons out there

  26. Colleen says:

    Congrats on your release!
As for wanting to know… I would say yes… 😀

  27. Viki says:

Hi Rosalie – I’ve read a few reviews of BLOOD OF THE DEMON and I’m really looking forward to reading it. The fact that Cynthia loves it is a real plus for me. She makes great recommendations :).

  28. Amy R says:

Hi Rosalie, thanks for stopping by and telling us about your new book, very interested.

To answer your question, I think I like living in my world of not knowing. Reading about vampires, werewolves, demons, thats one thing, but to be told they really are out there amoung us, I wouldn’t know who to trust.

  29. Lori T says:

I would rather not and I repeat not know. I would never leave my home. I would rather go about my life and deal with things as the come up.

  30. All right, so it sounds like we’ve got a pretty even number on both sides of this camp, lol. I agree with, Jen M. If I knew supernatural creatures were real, I don’t know if I’d be able to read the genre anymore (much less write in it), and that would be soooo sad!!

  31. Ciara Knight says:

Good afternoon, Rosalie. I’d definitely want to know.

  32. Na says:

I would find their existence both fascinating and scary but I would definitely want to know. That Iway I could compare this new reality to those I have read about in stories. How similar or disimilar they are.

  33. donnas says:

As much as I would like to say I would want to know. I dont think I really would. I think it might freak me out a bit too much, wondering who was who. Like in Men in Black when they have the big screen up and all the celebs are aliens. Freaky

  34. Diane Sadler says:

Oh! yes I want to know; I’m not sure if I would pass out cold, run away screaming and waving my arms or simply say I knew we had paranormals I read Cynthia Eden’s books!

  35. Stephenia says:

i’ll just stay in the clueless category – I don’t think I’d really want to know someone’s scary secrets, like their demon ancestors. But my MIL is part demon sometimes do you think that’s the same?? LOL.

  36. Louise Lucchetti says:

Absolutely want to know but only about the good ones!!!!!

  37. LOL, Stephenia. I loved hearing all your comments. As you know, I’m firmly in the “don’t want to know” category, but that’s just because I’m chicken. 🙂

  38. This is a question I ask myself everytime I read a PNR book. Basically trying to figure out would I respond the same way the herione responds. I still don’t know. I guess it depends on how I find out. Being chased by a demon would not be the way! However, if a sexy shifter flirted with me…well.. hmm.. : ) Your book sounds great.

  39. Barb P says:

Hi Rosalie! Your book sounds fantastic, I can’t wait to read it! In answer your question, yes, I would want to know, because then I would know what to watch out for in the dark. Also, if whomever or whatever is tall dark and sexy, well you know. bpatrick64113@sbcglobal.net

  40. Michelle Thomas says:

Who says they don’t exist? Book sounds great.
